Lymphoedema is a chronic condition that causes tissue swelling. Usually, the lymphatic system of the body is able to deal with the drainage of lymph fluid. However, any damage or removal of the lymph nodes from the lymphatic system can lead lymphoedema. Most commonly it will affect the extremities of the body such as the arm and legs but this can occur anywhere in the body.

- Lack of limb movement
- Cancer treatment

- Swelling in the limbs
- Difficulty with movement
- Skin feeling tight
- Aching and heavy feeling in the affected limbs

- Moving and exercising regularly
- Specialist massage techniques from a trained professional can sometimes help to reduce the fluid build up
