Fallen Arches/Flat Feet

Fallen Arches/Flat Feet

Flat feet occur when the arches on the inside of your feet become flattened, allowing your whole foot to touch the floor when you stand up. Usually, the condition will be painless but it can contribute to other problems in the ankles and knees due to realignment of the legs. The arches of the foot will usually develop through childhood and can then fall over time as structures in the foot weaken.

Common Causes

  • Childhood development
  • Damages to structures of the foot (injury and repetitive use)
  • Obesity

                                Common Signs & Symptoms

Most people will show no signs or symptoms associated to flat feet. However, heel and arch pain is common for those individuals who do suffer. For those with flat feet, the sole will be completely covered where as if there is an arch to the foot, this area will be cut out from your footprint.
